Austin, TX (June 26, 2025) - Last year, after more than four decades of shaping the sports construction industry, renowned entrepreneur Reed J. Seaton stepped away from his role as President and CEO of Hellas Construction. Seaton founded Hellas in 2003 and led it to national prominence as a full-service provider of sports facility construction and synthetic turf solutions. Now, he turns his focus toward his next chapter: Seaton Asset Limited Partnership, a family office and investment firm.
"Building Hellas from the ground up and partnering with top organizations was a remarkable experience," Seaton said. "In my time there, we set new standards in sports construction. I was grateful for the privilege of leading such a talented group and am confident that Hellas is poised for an even brighter future."
Seaton Asset represents a fresh venture for the entrepreneur – one that draws on decades of leadership, operational insight, and entrepreneurial success. With Seaton at the helm, the firm pursues investments across a range of industries, guided by the same values that fueled his past ventures: integrity, innovation, and long-term vision. The Seaton Asset website offers more information about the firm’s focus and approach.
Seaton Asset has already partnered with and invested in companies across many industries, including alternative energy, technology, infrastructure, real estate, and more – continuing Seaton’s legacy of bold, forward-thinking ventures. At Hellas, he redefined industry norms by integrating construction, manufacturing, and installation under one roof – an approach that made the company a trusted partner for hundreds of school districts, universities, and major NFL franchises, including the Dallas Cowboys. That 20-year partnership helped solidify Hellas’ reputation for quality, reliability, and innovation.
Originally from Wichita, Kansas, Seaton relocated to Austin in 1981 and launched his first business by age 24. Over the years, he has received multiple honors for entrepreneurship, including the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award in 1996 and 2018, and has been recognized for his commitment to sustainability and innovation in the industry.
Despite national and global reach, Seaton has remained rooted in Texas. "I’ve been here since 1981. There are around 1,000 school districts in Texas and I’ve been to 800 or 900 of them, many times. I joke that I’ve seen more of Texas than any other Texan!" That loyal spirit continues through the Seaton Foundation, which supports youth athletics and underserved schools—most recently with a significant donation to Kids, Inc., benefiting over 75,000 children.
Seaton says this next phase of his career will allow him to stay engaged in business while dedicating more time to his family, friends, and philanthropic efforts.
